Info of the car;2007 nissan murano with the intell key.

I had circuit city installat the remote but the car will not start without a key. The guy at circuit city was knowledgable with immobolizer system of other earlier model car but he hadn't worked on a 2007 murano with intel key. The car has the bypass install with the valet key inside but the car also needs a key in the ignition to start the car from the house. So, basically you leave the valet key in the transponder and a key that has no chip in the ignition. My question is did the installer install it wrong. Is there a specific way to hook the wires from the remote start to the ignition so the car turns over. When i take the key without the chip in it out of the ignition and press the remote the car will try starting but the engine won't turn over. The starter power on and tries to crank the car but the engine won't run. The remote start will wait a few seconds and try again. When the non chip key is in the ignition the car will start with one try.

What I want is to start the car without the extra key in the ingnition.Anyone have any infor on installing a remote start in the murano?

I have a similar issue with my 2007 Maxima w/ Intelligent Key. My remote starter requires you to press the brake to STOP the engine after a remote start. Then RESTART the engine using the Intelligent Key system of pressing and turning the iginition key housing without a key. I wrote to Nissan Consumer Affairs but no response yet. How stupid can Nissan be to offer high-end vechicles without a thought to remote start. Why should I have to STOP my remoted started vehicle, then RESTART in order to drive away! If anyone has an answer please let me know!

Yeah, sounds like the installer didn't hook up the transponder correctly, or perhaps outfitted the system with the wrong transponder. Either way he doesn't have the security bypassed. Doesn't matter what brand the remote starter is so long as it has the by-bass wires to attach to the transponder. I have compustar 8k and it works great. PS. you don't need the entire key in the transponder, you just need the chip located on the black part of the key. It's just right underneath the metal shaft. To me having a key, valet or not, to the car in the car isn't the best idea.

Hope that helps
