Okay, so I'm (still) doing my 5-lug swap. I'm just changing the rear hubs and repacking the stock bearings. So I diconnected the driver's rear spindle, turned it so the hub was facing downward and drove the hub out of the bearing with a socket and a hammer. The problem is that the outer (side facing the wheel) flange stayed stuck on the wheel hub shaft. I've hit it with PB Blaster and let it soak, but what in the hell kind of tool can I use to remove it? I don't want to break it loose with a hammer for obvious reasons. I've tried prying it up with two flat-blade screwdrivers (one directly across from the other for even pressure) until I bent the screwdrivers.

WTF mates? Any suggestions will help, especially if this has happened to you. Thanks in advance.

The rear carrier tends to rust to the iron uprights. There's a small lip on the backside of the carrier that slips into the upright, and that tends to be the biggest reason why it never simply comes loose easily.

The best way I've gotten them loose is to take the bolts and rethread them in about half way. Then with a deadblow of some kind, beat on them. I've had them rusted in so bad that I couldn't get them out using an air impact.

Just make sure to evenly strike each bolt so it doesn't get cocked in the upright funny.

EDIT* Okay, so reading comprehension plus sh*tty FSM diagrams pwn me.

Yes, the s13 rear wheel bearing inner race is two-piece. Yes, it's the hub-side half that's still stuck on the hub shaft. Yes, I need a bearing splitter for my pullers in order to remove the race. No, you are not supposed to re-use that part anyway, which means I need a whole new wheel bearing.

F this. Picking up a set of Ichiba 5-lug conversion rear hubs w/bearings for s13 tonight after work.

On Hondas which I am more familiar with we have a 2 part inner race which can be a PITA to get off as well. After a trip to Harbor Frieght we found a great tool that makes them easy. I believe you might be able to use this in your application to help you
