Greetings from Norway! :)

I have a Nissan D21 that i am trying to find out the engine type in. If it's a z24 or a z24i. I have tried using different "VIN-helpers" like this one: http://www.mynismo.com/vin.php but it does'nt match with the vin number of my car. Can anybody here help me?

Here is a picture of the VIN-plate:

And here is a picture of the car:

If the truck is a D21 it has a Z24i. There were no carb'd D21 trucks from the factory. All Z24 engines had TBI by 1986.

I thought the same as you say Rev_D21, that all D21 had throttle body injection, but mine shure loooks like an old fasion carb :P
Here are some pics :) Hope they help determing the engine type.

ok still cant really tell it looks a bit small for a carby but to big to be a throttle body

open the top of the air cleaner and look at the top of the unit

D21 CARBY

D21 duel point injection

REV_D21 may know if there was a 3rd type in the 87 D21's
was there a multi point injection (in to the manifold near the head) ?

but that dont matter anyway because you dont have a fuel rail next to the tappet cover

Thanx for clearing that out! :)
Any good ideas of why my VIN number is "un-readable"? Or is there a different way of reading them in europe or something? I contacted Nissan-dealership here in Norway but they had no clue in how to read vin on such old cars :P
