help with older HKS bov

Hey, I got a couple hks Super Blow Off Valves and they have two ports. The vaccuum lines that came with them had both ports hooked up to the same source (vaccuum? boost?) but I thought that one side went to vaccuum, not both.Can someone tell me which way the hoses need to be routed (and why they are that way)?

Also, if anyone is familiar with those valves, can you remove the diaphragm or are they like pressed on (as I suspect they are).Thanks guys!
