aight i have searched and i cant find anyone with tha same set up as me. i got a 1990 with no abs, hicas or lsd. i have kyb gr2 shocks/struts with eibach prokit springs. i am runnin tha normal 15x6 steelies that come with it, the steelies have a 4.5 backspace, i want 15x7 and tha ones i found have a 5.5 backspace. now from what i am told, i havent found it on ma own but from what i have been told tha origional steelies have a 40mm offset so i need to know what offset i might need tha 15x7" rims at?one more thing, does anyone know tha lug pattern for tha origional rims?? they not the 7 spoke aluminum wheels they tha steellies with tha hubs thx

No less than +20mm offset without camber adjustment. With lots of camber you can go lower.....and be ready to fit those old school deep lip wheels.

My WATANABE RS-8 has +27 mm offset fits nicely. Well, with -4 or more camber you might be able to run +10 offset. I know some guy runs 15x7 with +4 offset. Somehow, he runs about negative 7 or 8 degrees of camber though.

cheers

well the reason is because i want to run wider tires on ma car, right now i got 195 and i can put on 205 but i want to run higher, like 225 or 235 in the back and 205 or 215 in the front.

uh... running an offset as low at 4 would really screw up your geometry, right?

because i want to stick to the 15" rims so i dont have to mess with the speedometer. and on top of that i am lowering my car roughly 1.6 inches and i dont want to have to gut out my wheel wells because of my tires hitting or rubing due to bumps (i live in new hampshire)

Running larger wheels will not mess with your speedometer as long as you get the appropriate wheels to keep the same overall diameter. And there are plenty of people running 17's, lowered, without hiting fender / wheel wells. This goes back to the first thing i said, if your ran 17's w/ a lower profile tire keeping the same overall diameter as the stock wheels, and hit or rubbed anything, it would hit or rub with the stock wheels also.

yeah, running a larger wheel wont make you scrub if you do it right. I dont know why your so into this "wider 15' wheel" thing, buts its not very logical. you can get better performance with larger wheels very easily. if you want to stick to a 15" wheel, run a 205-55-15 on the stock 7-spoke alloys and be done with it. do some research before posting things like this please, its beginning to irritate me.-chet

no its not like i dont know what im talkin about. basically bigger wheels makes more weight, yea i know wider wheels make more weight too but the bigger wheels make more weight. for some reason i want to stick to the stock 15 inch wheels. i have found 15x7 inch wheels that i am goin to go for and my question was with an extra inch of backspace what offset should i go with. everyone else is making tha "bigger wheel" thing blown up. I WANT TO STICK WITH 15 INCH WHEELS, AND IM GOIN TO GO WITH 15X7. that is tha basic no bigger no smaller. all i want to know is what offset should i use on 15x7 rims??? if thats not exact enuf im sorry. and like i said i asked a simple question and everyone else blew up tha bigger idea.

yahoo

offset calc:http://toy4two.home.mindspring.com/offset.html

Go wit 16 though you'll be able to use a smaller sidewall and it will be stiffer.

Even if your total wheel size is bigger your speedometer will not be off that much.

tire size calc

Well do what you want.
