Hi, I have a nissan sentra 02 stock with 97k miles on it. I gave it to my dad since i bought a new car. I have been using the car this month as a DD. Recently, I have been hearing a lot of noise in the car.

1. humming noise around 30mph. The faster I go the louder it gets. Maybe bad wheel bearings?

2. Before when I was using the car I always make sharp right turns around 20-30mph on tight corner, but now when I do it, it feels like the left wheel lifts up or the left front end of the car. Bad front Struts?

3. Also I hear clicking sounds when turning. its like 2 metal hitting each other.

I have been lurking this forum ever since I had the car. I love that car and I would like to fix it. Just fixed the head gasket, water pump (the car was over heating) Cleaned the throttle body, The car feels smooth now when accelerating. Just alot of noise when on the highway.

Appreciate the help! Thanks!

The upper mounts on the front suspension are rubber and tend to wear out. That's what this sounds like to me. It could just be one side, though the other side is likely not far behind.

Not the strut itself, just the upper mount. The strut is fine unless you're bouncing bottoming out all the time.

One thing to note here is that without hearing the noise I can't be 100% certain as to what it is. The suspension mount is the most likely and one of the cheapest culprits to fix.

thanks! I will look into it this saturday. Is there a manual or a DIY for this? I am more of a picture guy DIY. I hate going to the dealer to have this done.

Grab the FSM from the link in my signature below my first post.

It's pretty much a matter of taking off the three nuts on the top of the strut in the engine bay, then getting the wheels and brakes off to unbolt the lower part, then replacing the top mount. You'll need to rent a spring compressor for when you take off the original mount. Autozone lends them out for free (though they require a deposit in case you don't bring it back).
