I have been discussing a new short shifter kit with Non-Stop Tuning and they need a couple parts to work from. Anyone have these items they gave me in an email? I don't have a manual transmission.

"We would need the OEM components to get something started. Namely, the OEM shifter cage and the OEM shifter itself. Please visit the following
link for an idea of what I'm referring to... http://subcompactculture.com/NST_Drivet ... ducts.html "

If anyone can help with the parts, we just might have a kit this Fall.

i trust it will be a short throw and not a shorter stick, it's short enough. shorter stick wouldn't accomplish anything, just harder throws.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is the purpose of short shifter?

The purpose of the modification is to mechanically reduce time between the changing of gears while accelerating or decelerating, thus improving the automobiles' performance. It also has a super nice feel. Like driving an actual sports car such as a Porsche. I want one for my V! :naughty:

 Wouldn't the shift be quicker if the stick was long, so you don't have to take your hands too far from the height of the wheel? When I got to ride in a rally car, the stick if anything was extremely long and close to the driver.

i hope this will be short throw, as compared to a short stem shifter. don't want a cut off stick.
if this happens?

Bob at Versaspeed and I are working on it still. It is one of the things we are hoping to get out this Spring.

BBV just hasn't had the time to get over to NST's shop in Houston. They need to look at a shifter in person to see what can be done with the OEM components. Would you have time to go to their shop and let them see your car?

Ask for Mike (I believe he is the owner) and tell him you are interested in a short shifter for the Versa. You can mention we have been talking about it here. I have exchanged emails with him on it. Tell him he can look at your car in person to see what can be done.

Any update on this? Also I went to versaspeed.com and could not link to anything to actually buy stuff for the versa. Links seemed to be expired. Is this guy out of business or something?
