I just bought a 2007 g35 sedan, after taking it to the dealer to have them check it out they say I need a 30k mile check up for $550 and $350 to replace the front brakes. Should I let the dealer do it, take it somewhere else, or just buy the brake pads and do it myself. Anyone with an opinion please help, thanks in advance.

If the brakes actually need to be done, then see what they are actually doing, turning or replacing the rotors for example, pads, etc. and if they look like they are doing all of that, then I would consider them doing it unless you decide to go after market and do a brake upgrade.

As far as 550 bucks for a 30 k checkup, will it had better be some checkup.
