Help With my speakers

I have a 1989 240SX and just recently installed my alpine radio in it. The owner before the person i bought it from installed new speakers. The last owner told me the speakers weren't working and now that i put my alpine radio in i'd like to know why the speakers aren't working. I don't know much about speakers so can someone help me. The person that installed the new speakers also left the wires for hooking up subs if that has any effects to why my speakers aren't working.

pole the speakers check to see if there is any signal going to the wire using a test light. if not then you have to find where the interference is between the deck and the speakers. if there is a signal then those speakers are puched. did the guy you bought it from install a sub or did the guy before that installed? if so i'm probably thinking that he ether blow a fuse or blow the speakers trying to keep the speakers as loud as the sub try that and good luck
