alright boys i got some questions for you. i own a 89 240sx with a 91 engine in it. my tachometer doesnt work and speedo only works over 30 and its off by 5. thats minor compared to my current problem which is why i need ur help. when i finished my swap my car wouldnt start, we had spark and fuel and thought it was top dead center. all out of options i took to the shop and the tioming was off. they set it to tdc and we're good to go. then i realised its supposed to be 20 degress b.t.d.c so i set that using a timing light. drive it all is well. then i come home from work and put noe of those distributor covers on right? and i had to unhook the wires to do so. when i plugged it al back in it wuldnt start he same way as if the timing was off. spent 3 hours messing wityh timing and sparg plug wires and nada. so i dont get it? can timing reset or what. i got spark got fuel and pretty sure its a timing problem. got any ideas? heres the kicker, the firing order is 1 3 4 2 i belive but when i switch the number 3 and 2 apark wires on the distributor ist fires and start, sputters, and stops. but ast elast it starts. i dont get it? i change the firing order to 1243 and it works but when i put it at 1342 it doesnt. id appreciate some help or at elast a idea possibly of the tach. thanks

Tach is easy. Did you get the gauge cluster from a 91-93 240sx?

When you switch from sohc to dohc the gauges are different. Standard procedure to swap them out.

I can't help with the timing, haven't had to mess with it (yet).
