Car seems to run fine when driving but i run into an issue when shutting the car off. After i turn the key off the car seems to die down like normal but then kicks one more time like its trying to start again and then dies down finally but the motor will continue to spin for about a total of 5 seconds after i turn the key off any suggestions?

That is often the case when there is a lot of carbon buildup and the motor "diesels" from the hot carbon igniting the fuel. Sometimes caused when the wrong plugs are used and it doesn't burn (or run) properly but other things can cause it to run rich and do this as well. Do your exhaust tips look really black?

their is carbon on the exhaust tips but the problem only seems to occur when the car runs for less then five minutes indicating that it wouldnt be carbon, cause once the engine gets hot this doesnt happen its only when im moving my car a short distance

Also Check TPS... I would turn my key off an the engine in my Z wouldn't even blink... So I hooked up the TPS that the previous owner had chopped the wires up on an also put my old ECU it the new Z... Im sure it stayed running because the Throttle Position sensor wasn't working though... http://www.300zx-twinturbo.com/cgi-bin/manual.cgi

Actually, I think just the opposite. HWen the car is coplder, l;ess fuel burns, and thus, the diesel effect when you shut it off. When it is nice and hot, everything has a better ignition patterm, fuel gets burned better, and no excess remains on shut down. My thought anyways.

I'd say the plugs... as mentioned above...easy to check, so i would do it as one of my first things.
