ok so i took out my knock sensor and wire thats clipped to it. i somehow lost it. now i have a brand new knock sensor waiting to go in but i have no wire can anyone tell me if i can wire it direct myself or should i order that little piece of wire from the dealer for close to 70.00 bucks because i know that its a 2 wire system but only one wire goes directly to knock sensor and the other has some kind of weird wrap job around the other wire. now if i can wire it direct what wire goes were . i am driving the car daily without the sensor there is a noticeable hp loss and the car seems to not have the greatest gas mileage .

please if anyone has any type of advice id gladly apreciate it

you lost the retaining clip that secures the harness plug to the sensor?

I hope you bought genuine nissan 30p00 sensor (no brown box generic). lot of labor to replace, wouldn't want an iffy one.

oh, so the whole harness is gone missing? could try a boneyard, but check the wire insulation well for signs of heat stress.on Q45s (two ks, down in the valley of the vee) we usually change the harness even if it is not 'lost' because the wires get very brittle.

as i recall, the harness that connects to the ks also has 2 ground lugs, and an 8-pin connector that services the fuel injectors as well. again, for q45, the injector harness is also sometimes replaced---long way of saying that $70 may be a deal for a new ks /injector harness, especially if you plan to keep the car for a few years.

remember to use our nissan/infiniti part sponsors so you get the 25% off on genuine parts.

ya i called around it seems there is no ka24de's in and junkyard around my area id have to drive out of state. its not even worth the gas and labor for me. all i need is the wire its just a 2pin so two wires i guess my best bet would be just buying it from the dealer its like 68bucks and some change and ill have it in 2 days... i hope that little retaining clip comes with it. otherwise ill have to figure out that too...

thanks tho and hey wut is a 2k q45
