hi. I am new here and have searched for posts related to replacing j30 shocks (front) with other cars shocks ex. maxima. Is this process possible, and if so, how do i figure out what car's shocks i can use? If not, where is an inexpensive place to buy shocks at? Thanks in advance for your help, as i am broke and in college

Sorry to say but it's a dealership item only as no one makes an aftermarket replacement and no other Nissan's shocks will "drop-in".

You Will Spend About 1,100 at the dealer for all four. I would Check the JUnk Yards and buy them there you can get some for about 50.00 bucks each, i just bought all four for 195.00 with shipping.

Good Luck

Someone said they fitted 240sx stuff onto a J30. Ive talked to some people and they seem like they may only require minor mods to make them work.

If you Buy them from a Junk yard that has Warranty on the parts. I have 90 day Warranty on my Shocks, I know if they are bad 1 Mile down the road, Did You Cough up 1100 Bucks for new one Nismo-Chi????

I would Not change the Shocks to the Nissian ones that some people has done.

The last time i checked, they are $580 for all four corners from Everything Infiniti, and as we all know there are not direct replacement but to go Nissan OEM, just new or used.

http://www.trademotion.com/par...=3221In case someone is too lazy to search. This is the link to the Kit that i was talking about, $580 for 2 front OEM strut cartridges and 2 rear OEM shocks.

I spent the $800 for the "deluxe" J30 package at everythinginfiniti.com which includes the new strut inserts, shocks, boots, bushings, and mounts. Got the fronts installed for $260 at my local mechanic and did the rears myself at a friends place.

About $1060 installed for all new strut and shock assemblies..
