So I bought this off of craiglist and the guy said it came off of his '97. I've got a '98 so I thought the fit shouldnt be an issue.

But, is this even for the '97-98'? it looks different from other pictures I've seen online. and on the MAF adapter, its got a hole. What is this hole for?

Thanks

You really didnt need to post this on the technical forum. Little things like this you can just post in the general discussion. That whole on the side of your maf adapter is for a hose that leads to that black plastic box thing. That little black box i forget what its called, but its inbetween your exhaustmanifold/header, and your drivers side strut tower. I have a ebay CAI and thats where mine leads to. Here is a link to a picture that shows you what im talking about...

What engine is in your car? I dont believe the one you have is for a DOHC, I will take a pic of mine when I can. But i think the hose that comes off the filter end is on other side on mine.I have a 95. The injen CAI kit I have is for 95-98.

Thats weird, I didn't realize the s14 and pignose CAI looked so similar. The hole in your MAF adapter can be used for the IAT (Intake Air Temperature Sensor), which S14's have but S13's don't. That "black box" that 240sxAli4Life was referring to is on the S13 and can be left disconnected. It shoots certain exhaust gasses back into the intake system, so leaving it unplugged does no real harm.

This is how it should look when its all said and done:

(ignore the extension that places the filter down behind the bumper.)

its not mine, its an image from google. Ignore the extra piping where your filter is. Point being, it will fit.

I dont get what the problem is here, what exactly is wrong? It fits right? It works right? Dude I use pieces of a cai from a ford probe for my bottom mount gt3071r. No one makes an intake for any aftermarket turbo unless its in a kit. If it works, great. If it doesnt than make it work. You think this has you stumped, try getting a generic intercooler pipe kit and make that fit perfect. It takes alot of smoke, drink, and creativity! Just getter done man.
