Hi, I hope someone can help with info.

I have a 1993 navara 4x4 with KA24e engine and occasionally, but not always, when Ive been driving the vehicle, then stop and turn it off, then about 5 minutes later, I hear a sound coming from the fuel tank, it sounds like an electric fuel pump, and it goes for about 10 seconds , then it turns off.

this is really strange, the ignition is OFF when it does it.

the first time I heard it, I got under the car and tried to figure out what was going on I couldnt believe it,..Now Im starting to think it may be normal for this to be happening?? can anyone help please.cheers.

Is navarra what they call the pathfinder down there? I don't think anyone in this forum even knows what vehicle you're talking about, especially since you've got something I've never even seen. Is that a diesel?

Navarra is the Australian Nissan hardbody pickup in earlier years, and then the USA equivalent to Nissan Frontier in later years.... You need to talk to Nissan Hardbody people as it is a different animal from our Pathfinders (Nissan Terrano in your country) I coped your question here, you should have replies soon http://www.4x4parts.com/ubbthr...58789

and snowsurflax, in regard to your question on the KA24E: The KA24E was a SOHC 12-valve engine produced from July 1988 through January 1996. It uses SEFI fuel injection, and features forged steel connecting rods, an internally balanced one-piece cast crankshaft, and a cast aluminum intake manifold.

Specifications

* Bore × Stroke: 89.0 × 96.0 mm * Max power: 140 hp (105 kW) @ 5600 rpm * Max torque: 152 ft·lbf (206 Nm) @ 4400 rpm * Valve Configuration: SOHC, 12 valves * Compression ratio: 8.6:1 (9.1:1 for early 1989 240SX )

Applications

* 1989–1990 Nissan 240SX * 1990–1997 Nissan Hardbody Truck * 1989–1992 Nissan Axxess * 1990–1992 Nissan Stanza * 1989–1992 Nissan Pintara / Ford Corsair

Whoa, I also realized there is a whole section on Nicoclub dedicated to this engine

Yeah, I saw that. They're pretty hardcore about their engines on there. I got curious and started looking and didn't have to go far. Didn't know that's what they called a hardbody in OZ. Curious

Yeah, I think you guys call them, D21 pick-up,.. so did you guys ever have a Navara, as such, Im thinking possibly not.

anyway that noise Ive got, someone the other day said that sometimes the fuel cap makes that noise to release preasure build up in the fuel tank, Im thinking thats probobly it!! which is good, no money to spend!! yaaay!
