Just went to go change my fuel pump, took the cover off and everything is pretty rusted/corroded. Just wondering to access the old pump do i have to undo the 6 small bolts that run around the edge of the plate? If so what would be the best way to go about it since they are all rusted to cra?.

Hit the whole thing with some PB Blaster to see if you can work off most of that rust, and then see if an appropriate socket will remove them.

A couple of the bolts don't even have any straight sides left to them. And sockets that fit over them vary in size from 8mm-10mm.

work the right socket onto those and it will take a lot of the rust off...if that doesn't work try phillips..they're all phillips head...unhook those two hoses....undo the electric connection(you prolly already did)...and pull that straight up..the fuel pump is on that assembly with the fuel gauge unit...undo the electrical connections...undo the tube...and the little brown tube coming off the side doesn't have to be put back on wtih most new pumps..
