Yup!IlyaKol wrote:I personally would say screw all that and get Google Chrome. Best browser on the planet.

You cannot use Adobe in Internet Explorer 64-bit, Adobe is not compatible. You must use the 32-bit version of the browser in your 64-bit OS.

Alot of people say this. "IE sucks blah blah". I've always wondered, WHAT sucks about it? I've been using IE and only IE since my first computer (Windows 95) and never seemed to have a prob?
Isn't it obvious? It sucks because Microsoft makes it. It also sucks because it is less secure than the other browsers by default (in the same way that Windows is less secure than Linux by default, the default being that attackers try to attack it more). As such, it is irrelevant that it has twice as many configuration options to make it far more secure than any competitor can be made. I use IE and only switch to FireFox for pages that IE won't work on, but the only time I have IE fail to work on a page is when my security settings in IE are too strict for the page. I wouldn't touch Chrome with a 10 foot pole. Is Chrome faster than FireFox? Maybe. Is FireFox faster than IE? Probably. Speed is the only reasonable complaint with IE. That said, I don't know about IE9, I haven't used it and it may be directly related with some of the problems people are discussing (although some mods and users have indicated otherwise). It also may be a sucky PITA with MS trying so hard to make it look like Chrome. It doesn't matter, though, to each his own, FireFox is a far better choice if you are lazy or don't have an in-depth knowledge of IE's security options. Regarding "IE 64-bit doesn't support blah," it's an invalid statement, the fact of the matter is that blah doesn't support IE 64-bit. Interestingly enough, Java does, but then they port from Linux. Oh wait, so does FireFox! Maybe Adobe sucks? Duh.sunoco wrote:Alot of people say this. "IE sucks blah blah". I've always wondered, WHAT sucks about it? Well, lets review the threads here in the past couple days.sunoco wrote:Alot of people say this. "IE sucks blah blah". I've always wondered, WHAT sucks about it?
You obviously read what I said wrong, since I did said ADOBE doesnt support the 64-bit browser. Nice one.The00Dustin wrote: Regarding "IE 64-bit doesn't support blah," it's an invalid statement, the fact of the matter is that blah doesn't support IE 64-bit. On IE 9 now. Had to reset to get here. Yes, most folks who use computers really know nothing about them. Kinda' like folks who drive autos...IlyaKol wrote:They should do a percentage out of the percentages listed of people who know something about computers.
It's probably a safe bet to say that 95% of the IE users are NOT computer savy.
Did you really just question my statement regarding the fact that most people are NOT computer savy? Get out of here lol.antzrus wrote:On IE 9 now. Had to reset to get here. PS Kinda' reminds me that most people think. However, most have no idea if what they are thinking is rational or not...![]()

I don't even know how to respond to that rant.
They have also proven time and time again that they know how to invade your privacy, so I avoid them (I agree, they do great things, and honestly, I haven't seen any articles regarding privacy invasion from Google in a few years, but historically, I saw a lot of them, so I just wish they were more adherent to their motto ["don't be evil"]).IlyaKol wrote:Google has proven time and time again, they know how to write software. My apologies. Ilya misread Antz post so I should be redeemed!EniGmA1987 wrote:You obviously read what I said wrong, since I did said ADOBE doesnt support the 64-bit browser. Nice one.
No offense Ilya, all in fun.IlyaKol wrote:Did you really just question my statement regarding the fact that most people are NOT computer savy? Get out of here lol.antzrus wrote:Yes, most folks who use computers really know nothing about them.

If people WERE computer savy, I'd be out of a job. Some people can't even handle finding the damn model of the PC they are on (on the physical tower) when I have to call them to walk them through something...you're going to tell me they are computer savy? They are lucky they can turn it on.
I would venture to say that MOST of the general public does NOT know how to use a computer other than:
1) Turn it on
2) Launch internet browser or email client or word processing/photo app.
3) Turn off
That's about the extent most peoples knowledge of computers goes. If I had a nickle for every time I saw something a stupid user error (we call that an S.U.E in my business) cause...I'd be LOADED.
S.U.E...and ID10T...are the two most common acronyms for us IT folks. lol.
IlyaKol wrote:Haha my bad. I took the, "Yes, most folks who use computers really know nothing about them. Kinda' like folks who drive autos... " bit sarcasically due to the smiley (that smiley on another forum I am on suggested sarcasm from the people who used it often). Guess I'm just used to that lol.
