I have just gotten my 240sx and want to go with a engine swap no matter what (the engine has 140.xxx miles and i want to turbo the car)is the sr20 really that much better for track than the ka. I only have 5000 to spend so plz keep that in mind.

I dont know if the SR is better for the track, but i can say that the SR is a night and day difference from the KA. It is way stronger then the stock KA, and to me a lot more fun to drive. Then again, I spent a little more then 5000 on the install since I got a fmic, exhaust, intake, bov and clutch.

well, IMO the SR is better for track then a 140k KA, but the swap will cost you more then 5k. You might want to consider a CA, cheaper then SR and with a few bolt ons which you can save for later on it will be just as fast as the SR.

they are both very good motors.

ka has more low end gruntsr has more top end

which do you want?

more things to consider: ka has a long stroke and the head is designed for NA. others will argue, but if your going to boost, i suggest a rebuild and a port.

if you don't want to put the work into it, the sr is easier to do right.
