So I've balled up the manual crank operator on my 92 coupe. The cables are totally crossed over each other and it's near impossible to undo, not to mention the plastic cable clips that hold the cable sleeves to the crank assembly are broken or missing.

I have a door to a 91 hatch that has electric windows, but I didn't keep the rocker switch on the door panel when I stripped the car. I'm assuming I could buy a switch assembly somewhere or another manual crank assembly. So what would be easier, swapping doors (and handles to match the lock) and hooking up the electric window and buying a switch, or buying another crank assembly and fixing it that way.

Anyone had to fix one of these? Fortunately I got the window most of the way to the top, but tolls, and drive-throughs will suck til I replace it.

well by experience, it's easier to just replace the whole track, my cables got all messed up on my car (electric windows) and like you said the plastic things were broken/missing but no one had and window regulators not even the junk yeard, i got stuck with tearing my door apart every 4 days because i would line up the cables so i can roll my window up and down til i can find one, now im a pro at taking the door apart. so i say it's really easy to just replace the manual window regulator than adding power windows to a manual window car cause then you're gonna have to start wiring and all that jazz.

You said you have electric windows but replaced cables? I peeked in the electric door and I just saw gears, I assume it's a plastic track like every other car uses. How does that whole thing come out? I liberated the crank and unbolted the 4 nuts to loosen the track, is that all?

After screwing with this thing twice, I think it would actually be easier to do the wiring to run the electrics. Anyone ever switch door handles?
