I have a 70 datsun 510, and put lowered struts on it. There 2" shorter than the original struts, but im still not pleased with how high its sitting. I am going next week to get all new tires all the way around, ( lower profile tire) which will hopfull drop it more a little. Do i go to coil overs, or should i just go the cheap way and cut the springs? Advice ( note: i am in high school, and dont have a lot of cash for fancy coil overs)

you can check it out here if you want

WARNING: The following post does not, in any way, answer your question.

What kind of seats did you put in? I have a 510 and a spare frame in my driveway right now I'm trying to get rid of, interested?

i wouldnt cut the springs, but handling is always the most important thing to me period.

but ill help you search around, after all the racing that 510's have done, someone must make at least some decent springs for them.

ST springs paired with the shortened struts should be a good level height.

The springs are going to lower it. Aftermarket is the way to go, DON'T cut them.

Which of those two is your project? You have to remember that the red one, since it has no engine, isn't going to sit low like it should in the front. In the rear, it looks great.

Anyways, good luck with whatever you're trying to do.
