So like the title says im thinking about changing my grill. i have an 08 m35s. its black. pretty much stock. the original grill has a crack in it. not really noticeable but i notice it.

i want the jdm fuga grill but 700+ is a lot for a grill at least at this moment. id rather put it towards my car payment. on that note i found an aftermarket grill. check it out and let me know what you guys think. all comments are welcome. this is a classy car so i dont want it to look cheap but i want to modify it without messing with the car too much. I still need a reliable daily.

background on me: i built my other car a 97 honda civic. everything was taken apart and put back together but its still under construction.
I like to work on my car myself and dont care to pay for it nor do i think shops will pay attention to detail as much as i will. C'mon we're on here because we LOVE our cars, right?!?!

suggestions on other mods I could do to my car are welcome too!!

Ive thought about putting window visors on the car and also a rear roof visor if it looks clean.

Currently what ive done to the car: changed my brakes with factory brakes, swapped out all bulbs in car to SMD LED hyper white. changed in a/c cabin air filter. will make a how to thread about it with pics incl. because i did it the long way and its really simple. and put brand new rear tires. i drive my car fast and burn rubber literally. I drive it how its meant to be driven lol

Why not just get another OEM grille?

Or gets yours repaired and painted?

just wanted to make it look different. i have seen an oem girl painted black it looks pretty nice. i just think the fuga grill isnt seen that often and would change the look of the car more.

there arent many mods that you can do to this car unless its dramatic like putting airbags but i dont want to sacrifice the smooth ride.

did you think the grill looks nice on the car from the pics that were on the link?

i understand. at the same time, how many other M's in your area have them grilles painted? lol just food for thought.

less drastic mods would include tints, a mild drop, an exhaust, etc.

as for the replica Impul grille in your link, i'm not a huge fan of it...i think the horizontal lines along with the mesh behind it make the grille too busy looking...in my opinon it should be one or the other, but definitely not both together..the original Impul grille didn't have the mesh behind it..

yeah the mesh behind it is what im afraid will make the car look cheap. ill post a few pics of grills and the different ways they have been painted and we will do a poll soon. cant post pics since im at work

Hey there,, for us 08+ theres actually only two grilles or atleast two that I know of and thats the OEM and the Impul replica.. The Midnight Black or the " Fuga Kouki Vip" is nothing but oem painted in different ways. Then you have the non spt ( fully chrome) and the sport ( chrome around with chromed lip of the bars black behind them ) . And I think its ridiculous what they want for the fuga vip grille. I am actually painting my grille fully black ( not plasti dip ). If you want some pics and the process let me know

The Balsarini grill comes in a 06-07 model and 08-09 model. Both are quite rare and hard to find though and cost quite a bit. Cheapest I have seen for a new one is $425, but then you have to pay oversea shipping, wait months, and pay to get it painted. So it ends up costing around $600~ when its all said and done. Still my favorite grill though

Oh thats something I didnt know thanks. I thought they were only for 06 07 ... I hear you on the price and shipping/waiting but the grill is really nice though. Not sure if I can picture it on a 08 + body . But atleast you get something unique for the price.. But charging 600 bucks for painted oem grille is a little over the line. I bought my 08 sport grille used for 50 bucks ( no cracks all tabs in place but had a lot of rock chips) so I sanded out the chrome plating to bare plastic primed with adhesion promoter and primer filler then two coats of black wetsanded 1500 and applied finish coat of black and lastly three coast of hg clear material = 40 bucks

Just for reading with pics:

infiniti-m35-m45-grill-thread-t510501.html

Last I heard the Balsarini grill was about $650 with shipping and waiting time was 14 weeks

Even the seller at Ebay has removed his listing for this grill.

You'll be lucky to find a used one for $400 in good condition.
