I've been getting a service engine light code. I do not have the OBD, I have to flash the codes. I get a 10 long, and 5 short. The manual says this is a (don't quote me exactly) ERG/purge solenoid/canister issue. I've replaced these components including the EGR temp sensor, tried to clear the code but it comes back. Someone mentioned that I may have a intake manifold leak, the book is kind of vague on this, but I'm pretty mechanically inclined. Any recommendations on something I may of missed or some do's and don'ts for intake manifold repalcement? One other thing, maybe related or not, but when I take off in 1st gear, the car shudders, the clutch was just replaced because it was just worn out. I was thinking maybe the shuddering was due to the service engine light, but, maybe it's because of a bad intake manifold gasket or maybe both.

Hi BB!

Sounds more like a simple vacuum leak, I wouldn't go pulling the manifold yet.

Get some starting fluid (a couple cans). At idle, spritz starting fluid around the mani gaskets and near all vacuum line connections. If the idle stumbles, there's your leak.

Check all vac lines, they're cheap to replace and can save you a ton of hassle.

After that, let's look at cleaning the EGR.
