alright i'm just wondering what is the torque spec for the stud to the block? and before i put the stud in should i lube it up?

There is the tightening procedure for the KA24E but i can't find my KA24E manual anywhere. For the DE it's as follows. Hope this helps

My personal preference, is to screw the stud into the block, only finger tight.

Other than that, here are the torque specs for the ARP's.

More than good personal preference that is the way ARP says to do it. Also lubing the threads is essential. Otherwise you'll be measuring thread friction with the torque wrench. Not true torque.

it seem i can't get the washer on. am i suppose to put the wash on the head first then slide the stud into it?

I imagine you can re-use it. But try like hell to get the new ones down in there. They are hardened I believe, and wont 'squish' like the stockers.

Why are you having a problem getting the washers down into the head? Do you have the cams in the head?

never mine i found the answers, i had to install the washer first before the head goes into the stud otherwise the washer won't fit.

Ok, I gotcha. That makes sense.

I really need a picture to get a sense of what's going on. I'm terrible at trying to 'draw my own'..
