Help with a headlight question

I just did the sleepy eye look on my 90 240sx, i wanted to ad color changing lights to my head lights, by drilling a hole in the light housing and runing the LED inside of the houseing, then attaching a ground to part of my engine bay, and runing the other wire to a running light power source, so when i turn on my running lights and my eyes are in sleepy mode, light comes out of my headlights as well. But my problem is this, my light housing is a sealed one, will drilling this affect my lights, possible cause them to blow out? and allowing moisture to enter?
