Hey guys. I recently replaced my in cabin air filter and coincidentally my ac has not been recycling the air causing air from outside to come in. It's terribly hot out, food and exhaust are not pleasant to smell. Please let me know if u guys know of any solutions. Ps. Button to cycle through fresh air and recycle works and speed of ac work too. PLEASE HELP

That's a head-scratcher! I cannot think how the A/C problem could be caused by the filter change (I don't think you were saying that either). If the vents are not changing between recirculated air and outside air, even when the switch says it has .... that leads me to believe whatever makes those vents open and close to the outside has gone bad. If they work off a vaccuum line, maybe there is a loose vaccuum hose? If they work electronically, then it could be a loose connection of a bad module that can't tell the outside vent to close so that only air inside the cabin is circulated.
Sorry, mate that's all I could come up with.

I agree wih Larz that replacing the cabin air filter should not affect the fresh/recirc air. I have done it before and in fact, I'm scheduled to replace it again next month. However, it's possible that the intake door or mechanical linkage to the motor may have been inadvertently affected during the filter replacement. The intake door and motor are above the filter assembly.

When a problem such as yours arises, I usually take a step backwards. Before looking for the high tech solution, try the low tech one. I don't disagree with any posters response. But I'd try taking the filters out. Then see if the problem still exists. My OP.

I would like to know what buttons you have pressed on the HVAC? I found that if change certain modes it forces the external air to be allowed. Cycle through all the modes to find the one which closes the recirculation door and meets some of your needs.
