hello all

my stereo is shot in my 90 maxima and I have narrowed it down to a definite wiring issue. so, I bought an aftermarket cd player, and I want to run all new wiring to the stock speakers, so this would include ground, power, etc wires for the actual head unit.

can someone help me out and tell me the best way to wire this? I figure the ground should be wasy enough, but where should I bring the remote/power/iginition signal lines to get it working so its on/off when the car is?

thanks in advance!

:help

I recomend buying a test light first off, as well as an add-a-fuse kit...(i'm not sure how they work, but i think it's what you want) your constant power, just grab that from the battery directly. If you have an s14 there's one open grommet on the left side of your engine, i ran wires through there, it comes up behind the dash and you can tuck them out of the way. For your switched power, I'd go into your secondary fuse box inside the car, that should be switched (thus the test light) and use the add-a-fuse kit from there. Ground's easy of course...You shouldnt need a dimmer switch wire or anything. And as far as wiring the doors, good luck...I ran wires to the back of the car in conduit under the center console and back seat, they're only visable for about 2 inches between the back seat and console, and since nobody ever sits back there it's fine....just my 32.3 cents.

Oh, if you need a remote line, as in the blue one that goes to the amplifier or power antenna, that's run directly off the head unit...

I agrre with what astron said except that you should be able to run speaker wire along the factory harness.

Yeah. I never tried too hard to find the factory harness...I assume it runs along the door channels, right? I think i saw it once, but it looked too complicated...

In a friends sundance, we just ran speaker wire under the dash and throught the factory door grommets for the front speakers...

Ugh, I did that for door solenoids...hated it......Running them to the back speakers wont be too bad, but the doors are tough
