Need to know if the Fuel Tank of a 2000 Xterra XE 4x4 automatic trans, can be replaced with a 2006 Xterra fuel tank (which is the only one I could find in a junkyard).I need to change the fuel tank of my 2000 Xterra immediately, it is corroded, leaking and fuel vapors are getting me sick, specially on my pocket due to fuel expenses. I called a local Nissan dealer trying to find out if all Xterras uses the same fuel tank, if not, when does the one used on the 2000 changed. Also asked for the 2000 fuel tank exact part/model # but they said they can't give any part number, except bringing to them the car to analize and change the part. On internet I found different f/tank models, 17201: [M10] 17202-7B400, 17202-5S620; 17202-9Z500TK, 17202-7B400, but how can I know which is the one I need. Can I replace the f/tnk with the 2006, what are the differences between both fuel tanks (if any). Please help!!!
