Has anyone had problems with the winshield wiper fluid resevoir freezing up? We're having a 'mild' winter here in MN, and I realized yesterday that the wiper resevoir is empty. I poured some in, but it froze in the pipe before it could enter the tank, somehow creating a vacuum. Any ideas how to make it work again (short of driving the car for a loooong time to get it hot enough)?

Just how cold is it? The stuff I use (Rain Ex) is good to -40f.

I'm not sure they sell "summer" washer fluid in Minnesota... you're crazy to use it that far north in my opinion. Most of the fluid I see here is only good for -25F, including the orange Rain-X stuff I bought. I think the green Rain-X fluid might be good for -40F.

The dealer might have used summer washer fluid and that got blended with winter fluid over time, but not enough to lower the freezing point below what your outside temperature is.

Wait for it to warm up and pruge good washer fluid through the lines for 20 minutes. Don't run the motor for more than 30 seconds continously, and give it a few minutes or so ot cool down in between.

spunky, add the deep freeze stuff. And don't worry, it's spose to get to 50* tomarrow, the tube will melt and all should be fine.
