Hello Everyone, I live in the SF Bay Area and I've heard conflicting news from various dealers here. Some say order now (plop down a deposit) and the Versa ordered will arrive late June early July. Other dealers say that not even the hatchback will be out till early 2007. Any confirmed scoopage???

Hey, welcome to NICO! The info I got was about the same as you, beginning of summer, but the hatch was coming out at the same time. I haven't heard of it being delayed until '07. I wouldn't think that would be beneficial to Nissan given that both the Fit and Yaris are already out. The Fit is pre-sold for the first 20 or 30 units at our local dealer.

If I hear anything, I'll post it here.

Thanks Repo Man! I actually at lunch went to a mid peninsula dealership who told me that Nissan changed there minds. So the latest they have is that early June each dealer will get 2 models of the hbacks.. prob 1 standard, 1 cvt auto. then people can test drive and order and delivery should be 4 to 8 wks thereafter. thanks for your welcome. I think this will be a fun Summer!

Sweet! Hey, if you get one, you need to take some pics during your delivery and post them up. I think this is going to be a great car for Nissan whether gas is two dollars per gallon or four.

Which transmission would you take given the choice?

original pricing was going to be $12,xxx but then i checked about a month later on the pricing at work and it was ranging between $13,xxx to $14,xxx.

i'm pretty sure if you get the base model with no accessories, it'll be $12,5xx without tax.

add the tax, shipping fee (to have the car shipped to the dealer you'll be buying it at or so they say) and all the hunk of dmv ****, it'll probably be $15-$16,xxx for a base model versa.

of course, i plan on getting the sl, top of the line with all the accessories.

one thing i heard from the sales rep is that if you wait maybe 6 months, they might come out with a Nismo Tuned version of the Versa.or just a version that's supposedly better than the sl.

the top heads at nissan corp normally do that anyway.the proof is the nismo sentra, nismo altima, eventually even the nismo 350z (s-tune and r-tune).

so the question is do you want to wait for a Nismo version IF they make it?i think it'll be worth it.bigger rims, performance exhaust (maybe even headers?), short ram intake, and thicker sway bars. maybe even discs in the rear instead of drums? don't forget the shiny-carbony shift knob. oooooh... nice.

my d!ck is getting a little hard just thinking of a Nismo Versa.

Anyone have any luck with this yet? I just called a dealer by me and asked they said not till sept nov. I explained I was talking about the hatch because from what Ive read EVERYWHERE they are due out soon if not now and the sedans are due out in the fall. So is it just some guy at the dealer not knowing what hes talking about or did they push this back and somehow I havent heard about it anywhere?

I'd be interested in this too.

It's not in the normal "cars" section of Nissan USA's site just yet.

With the Fit & Yaris already out there making sales, Nissan needs to get this thing out the door already.

July 14th has been the general date I have gotten from the Nissan dealers in Minnesota. They are even telling me what trim, transmission, options and colors are available.

It seems like Nissan isn't doing to much to spread the information, I had to work over dealers to actually call their warehouses to find Nissan order forms.

I've heard too that they're coming in mid-July, but my dealer doesn't even have literature yet.
