I bought the 150 pc craftsman set and it wasn't enough. So now I have full plier, crescent, etc sets. And a 13 drawer chest that's taller than me and is very full. Most common tools I use other than ratchets and wrenches are the extensions, pliers, breaker bar, pry bars, and mallet. So I guess I've got about $1500-2000 in tools over the past year.

I should say screw sears. I tried to bring back a 3/8 micro click ratchet that was skipping and they told me they don't replace them with brand new ones anymore. Tey said they will give me a rebuilt one with new internals. I said ok, and they slapped this totally different ratchet on the table. So I got into a big argument about it and got nothing. So "lifetime warranty" might not be warranty, besides, they screwed my Dad on a snowblower warranty, so sears can kiss my ****. Oh, and any craftsman screwdiver I've ever owned has broken on me.

Honestly, the popular mechanics line of tools you used to get at wal-mart were really good. I have this 1/2" ratchet I've been completely abusing for years and it keeps going. The bad news is I don't see them there anymore, the good news is that the stanley line they carry look exactly the same, maybe they are the same. Plus, anything wal-mart sells has a lifetime warrany, if you don't mind pulling a switch and return.

yeah my dad has a lot of popular mechanics stuff and I have yet to break his stuff, though I don't use it often and when I do I'm careful with it.

Yeah my friend has a craftsman torque wrench and they no longer carry any warranties on those at all... I dunno whats up with that ratchet bs I woulda asked to talk to the manager. Write a letter to sears or something.
