Hi! I need good input from other 240 owners. My 240 is my daily driver. About a year ago I got into an accident. Instead of scrapping the car, I actually paid to fix it. this is where I *****ed up. I needed a new hood, bumper, and a few other things. I decided that while i needed these parts I would buy a bodykit. So I ordered a kit from VIS (I know, idiot move!) and when it got there it didn't fit worth sh*t. VIS IS THE WORST COMPANY IN THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY-TRUST ME, never buy from them-spread the word. they are bad businesspeople too! It's along story, but let's just say the shop was lying when they said "we can make any kit look good. cheap or expensive, they all fit about the same." they ended up using self tapping screws all over the place:( . at the same time I slapped on an intake , header, and exhaust. I already had a'pexi coilovers. the car looked cool but not that clean for awhile. Well several deep potholes and a few minor drifting accidents later, my already crappy bodykit is busted in many ways and places. there's not a single piece of the kit that's in good shape. I still have not bought any rims for it either, because I have been collecting parts for an SR swap and the stocks perform fine for now. ANYWAY:HERE'S MY DILLEMMA: WHAT DO I FIX/DO NOW? I barely have enough mods to justify a body kit, even if it was in good condition.. My suspension is pretty tight. I kind of wish it looked stock again, but this will be even more expensive than putting an excellent kit on it. i hate being all show no go, but i also hate being all busted up. I personally can deal with a damaged bodykit (barely) if I have power to make up for it.

SO, HERE'S THE POLL- WHERE SHOULD MY PRIORITIES BE?1-clean, good condition car with pretty wheels- about right looks to too much looks in proportion my engine mods. S L O W2-SR20DET-FAST! also ugly, but nothing to lose learning to drift the SR!What should I spend my $7k budget for this year on?

do the sr and save for a silvia front end and get the other stock body peices at the same time. or just turbo the ka and have plenty of money left to fix the body kit.

who gives a funk what it looks like if its slower than ****!! The rear end of my car is banged up and im runnin on stock rims and the paint isn't the greatest but its gonna stay like that until i at least get a fairly high level of performance out of it. Then later it can look nice.

I'm not just sitting on 7g's. I am talking about my whole year's worth of scrounging and saving. $7k is just enough for a clean and thorough basic SR install IMO.

Definitely go with the SR swap! Keep this in mind...you can't see the outside of the car when you are driving. Other people can see it. You can feel and enjoy the power of the engine when you're driving...other people can't. So here's the question...are you willing to spend money so other people can see what a nice car you have as they pass you?! Or are you willing to spend money to see nice cars while you pass other people. GO before SHOW.

I would think with 7k you should have no problem getting a front clip with good finders, hood and lights not to mention a good SR motor....

Thanks guys, you are reaffirming what I was thinking, but unsure about. See, my stock S14 fenders are fine, so I don't need a silvia front end or anything. I'm not talking about spending $7k on a clip, so forget the RB, its too much of a hassle. I know, you found an RB for such a price or whatever, but the installation and parts availablilty is still too sketchy. I'm talking about a finished swap with all the basic stuff. I'm talking at least $7k for the following:SR20DETTomei Fuel pump-on backorderHKS clutch and flywheelNismo stainless clutch line- already got itKoyo Radiator Blitz intercooler and BOVBlitz downpipeStraight pipeA'pexi intakeNismo mounts-already got 'emSVR slim batteryHT install kitHT tune up kitHT harness conversion...and boost controller, turbo timer, gauges, etc. With labor/space this puts me at about $8700. Whatcha think?
