I just bought a 35th anniversary, and under the drivers dash there is a button that is connected to a wiring harness…I was curious as to what it is. I have clicked it a few times, but nothing happens. There is a green light that blinks on it as well.

I followed the wires....they tap into a factory wireing harness under the drivers side kick panel. I tryed the alarm and unlocking the car with a key...but no diff with the switch turned on or off...car drives the same..so its not a chip..I dont know how to get ahold of the previous owner (the dealership wont give me his name or number)

the valet switch would disable passive arming of an aftermarket system, wow, you must be young do the wires "tap" into the rest of the harness or so they appear to be a part of the dash harness? do all the wires go into the dash harness ro do one or more wires go elsewhere?

and in kY you have the right to get the previous overs contact info of record before the sale, after I guess your screwed, it's part of out lemon laws

It's a cut-out/kill switch for starter and or fuel pump, from the original dealer lot. Most dealers have those put in to avoid there cars being stolen off the lot at night. They de-activate them permanently once the car is purchased, and most people don't even know they are there...who ever put that one in put it down WAY too low.

Possibly a GPS tracking..they will blink even if deactivated. Ours will stop blinking when our car stays in the garage more than 2 weeks. It takes about 20 min for the GPS module to blink again. However, it only blinks when the car is off.
