If you have money you can buy a Rips intake manifold. I got mine for 1200 shipped with bigger throttle body. I think carl got his cheaper can't rem.

RIPS is the only option other than ebay, and again those are $1000+.

The stock intake manifold works fine. No need to upgrade unless you want to just about double your hp.

What if your looking to push around 350ish whp, doesnt it also let you run a strut bar directly across?

At any power level under about 400 I'd prefer to stick with the stock intake manifold. the runners are long and keep very good intake velocity for low rpm power. If you change your intake manifold to a smaller shorter runner, all you will get is more top end and less useable low end torque, which is the power you use 95% of the time.

This is starting to look like you dont like how the stock intake manifold looks, and you want to run the baller high performance 50hp strut bar.

If you want to spend $1200 to run a strut bar, and have a better looking intake manifold, be my guest.

Not saying I dont like it I was just asking because I didnt know but you saved me from tracking down a hard to find expensive one for my 20.

On the strut bar... the one that runs infront of the fire wall and directly across.. do they pretty much perform the same or is there any difference?

I believe cusco makes a strutbar that fits. it doesnt bolt to the firewall, but it runs behind the intake.

Dont look too far into performance of a strut bar, you'll probably never notice the difference between any 2.

Chuki RB are there????

All I know of are RIPS, Plasmaman, Top Hat, Custom, Ebay DIY kits, EBAY ITMS, I guess thats it.

I already have the old school Top Hat but who else make ITMS for the RB20?

Go big or go home! j/k. The Rips was a bolt on kit. I got it and bolted it on with everything and ran with it. I did the install with the motor in the car.

Small price to pay when you don't have to make stuff work.

Well I have the RBTally Intake Mani on my RB20, he usually only does manifolds for the RB25 but after contacting him and waiting a little over a year for him to prototype, I have the only RBTally RB20 Intake Mani, it has a Q45 flange for a Q45 TB and I had this bolted to my stock RB20 for quite some time and everything ran great! I am currently changing up my setup and will be selling this manifold however so contact me at [email protected] if you are interested in buying, I will not post a price on here as this is not the classifieds forum...Couple of Pics:

First Off here it is in the car:

Here is a shot inside the manifold you can see it has velocity stacks on each runner

And last shot just to show that he port matched the stock manifold into the runners perfectly

You can buy ebay kits with velocity stacks just like RBTally's intake, but assembly is required. The RIPS is a good intake but definitely not the end all, be all of intake manifolds for the RB. Rajab Racing and Plazmaman make some of the best intake manifolds for RBs according to the Aussies.

That intake manifold is just like the Top hats. It's just the upper plenum.

Correct, The Plazmaman and Rajab Racing both use the stock lower runners but the total length of each is tuned and proven on a dyno. The Plazmaman has a 5.0L plenum which is a lot bigger than Top Hat's, and has it also velocity stacks. I can't remember if Top Hat had stacks and I can't find an example on ebay or on their website so maybe they don't fabricate them anymore??

Personally, I would get a custom upper manifold so you dont lose a bunch of low end power. I had a custom upper and switched to a rips style short runner manifold and dont really like it. I have only babied that car off the line and then slammed the trottle because im still breaking in a clutch and new and engine. Once i break it in and able to really lay into to off the line im sure ill like it more.
