Possibly related to my other post...

I have ALL the vacuum lines on my KA-T removed/looped / plugged, except for the brake booster and the one vacuum port on the manifold right near the brake booster source.

The 4 coming out from under the TB are capped, the big "rack" of lines on the rear of the head is gone, and there are NO vacuum leaks (I'm pulling 20-22 psi of vacuum at idle).

My question is, although the car starts and idles fine, it stalls on the slightest deceleration (recirc'ed BOV).

I'm getting a queasy feeling that the IACV isn't getting any air (duh) since it's capped off.

SO - Should the IACV line (which I think is the larger of the 4 lines coming out from under the TB) be:

Connected to a nipple on the intake (pre-MAF)Connected to a nipple AFTER the MAF, before the turboConnected to the coldpipe before entering the TB

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

mine is connected just before the TB on the cold pipe. It works fine and helps the idle at cold starts.

cold pipe before entering the TB, and its not the largest...i dont think.

On my 95 intake manifold the IACV line is the one on the far left. On the 95 manifold there are only 3 lines though. If im not mistaken the largest line is for the evap canister.

If the largest line is on the far left, then its the on on its right....confused yet? cause i kinda lost myself there.

btw my 95 manifold is on a 91 motor and in a 91 chassis.

Dunno how you are idling if it's capped off. Mine is connected just before the TB. Anyway it should be connected after the MAF so it sucks in metered air.

connected on cold pipe right before the TB. iirc, u need that to idle correctly unless u have ecu work done or a standalone present.................nonetheless, weld in a 90 degree fitting so that u can connect that back up. autozone heater hose is ur friend.

the 4 lines under the TB is supposed to be capped off. I dont believe greg is talking about the big thick hose that is coming off the IACV because that should be obvious where it goes. your cold pipe does have a IACV bung already right greg? sorry if im mistaken..maybe pics would help

I doubt you really have your IACV vaccum capped off... if you do, and the car still idles, you have a problem. That should be the only place the car is getting air from during idle (when the throttle plate is closed). Double check that one for us?

You'll definitely want the IACV plumbed into a pressurized source and preferably after the IC.

Fiz -

The larger line of the 4 coming out from under the TB (the one on the driver's side) was capped off.

I plumbed it into my coldpipe right before the TB, but not much has changed.

I pressurized the system and it holds pressure (no leaks).

WTF is up with this car?
