A smaller blue relay near and behind the fuse box started buzzing really bad today.....so i take everything apart after work to get to it. Finally I got to it and took it out. buzzing stopped, i was happy With the factory service manual in hand i still cant figure out what this particular relay is for. anyway, I start to drive the car and as soon as I try to take it over 2500 it starts to bog..I barley make it a block and have to pull in somewhere where the car dies. I have someone come jump me figuring my TINY battery is dead...after i get it started with jumoer cables my HKS turbo timer indicates that there are only 9 volts while driving.. I make it another 100 yards then stall and die....finally having the car towed home.

Could not charging the battery be the fault of the relay? or could the buzz from the relay be the fault of the alternator?

If it is the alternator, can i use on from an SE-R??

HELP PLEASEthanksjohn

the relay most likely does have something to do with not charging the battery. i say put it back in and see if the car dies again.....if it does not die post pics of the relay, have someone identify it and get a new one from autozone. i'm kinda doubting its the alternator.....

note: se-r alternator won't work on an sr20det becasue of the fwd and rwd. the accessories are swtiched around. the Ka24 should work with a little modification
