help w/ engine light on

ok so i just recently got my 97 kouki swappd w/ a 95 5 speed transmission , and the guy at the shop told me it was bcuz of the obd2 and wasnt readin the auto sensor no more or sumthin, but he told me i shouldnt have any troubles as long as i take it to discount auto for a free test once a month. it has an auto ecu, should i be worried about anythin happenin?

take it to the dealer. they will usually tell you for free what code its throwing. at least the one here has done it for me free twice.

mine didn't do that, but I am OBD1

that sucks, man. I personally don't like to leave that light on, and I would address the problem, just because if my engine develops new problems I won't know that it has multiple problems.

I'm pretty used to reading my ECU codes and have done so also on other 240s. It's not too bad doing so..

yeah, If you goto 240sx.org and click FAQ there is a section on reading codes....double check its a transmission code, search the vert forum for the guide on auto to manual swap...I think they got it figured out to were it wont throw codes..
