HELP!!! VLSD 5-bolt axles...short ARRRGHHH!!

So I went to throw my VLSD and 5 bolt axles in yesterday...LSD is out of 180sx with nismo gearing...Well everything lined up real nice until I put the axles in....The guy I bought this off of said that these were the right axels. Apparently Not . So I need to know what axles I need to buy to make the 5 bolt work...Only one side doesn't line up it's about an inch short....Will J30 5-bolt axels work? I'd only need to get one...the longer one. Car is '90 240sx...I'm really pissed off at the guy who sold me these...he said everything was right and all would bolt right up....Found this:zerothread?id=122267So I'm assuming that the J30 5 bolt will line right up in my S13...right??

Yes you can use the J30 5 bolt axles.The only obvious difference is the shiny abs ring collar that sits against the bearing.

So that won't matter if my car has no ABS right? If not I'm going straight to AutoZone and buying both sides...also on stock OD axles one is longer than the other, you're saying the J30 axels are the same way(lengthwise)? I'm just trying to cover all the angles before I buy them...Thanks.

Yes they are different lengths because the diff is offset.You can still use abs car shafts because there is sufficient length of spline engagement. Many many posts revealed this to be true..

Well thanks for reassuring me. I've been reading and searching all of NICO and I geuss I just needed to hear it from someone else as well.

Man...it's just one after another...AutoZone can't get them but they list them in thier computer..Everything infiniti can get them but for$552.00 The guy I spoke to also mentioned something about backorder as well. All I need is the longer side (passengers side)....Jeez why does upgrading your car have to be so hard....All the while my car is sitting on jackstands with me helpless to do anything until I track the part down. I was supposed to have my car out of the garage by today....This really sucks.

I gotta say thanks to you man. I got the LSD with the J30 (94') axle and it runs beautifully. The NISMO gears really do help out alot...I can only imagine what it'll be like with SR. 4.4:1 is a really good rear for the 240sx...Definately more low-end torque then before. Nismo knows what they are doing....Handling is phenominal compared to my Open Diff. I think I might pick up a sec or 2 in AutoX...Anyways I'm happy...

Well done.I've got a spare 4.36 awaiting the requisite expensive mechanical lsd then I too will be running the high ratio/better low end..
