Hi guys. I just had my ka24de rebuilt as well as the transmission. I got it all put back in and it starts right up but when you try and drive it or rev it up while in park, it has a horrible hesitation. You can mash it to the floor and it just seems to bog down and then it wil rev up. I took it for a drive and it would do the same thing, sometimes it would feel like all cyl decide to kick in and it will take off, but other times it just bogs down and barely crawls. It doesn't seem to be missing or backfiring. Considered a timing issue but I tried rotating the dist. and nothing changed.

What do u guys think. Could I have hooked up the fuel lines backwards? Vacuum leak?

Thanks

Adam

pretty sure thats a low fuel issue. try to get ahold of a fuel gauge and check it out. mine did exactly the same thing and turns out my pressure was way too low and inconsistant.and make sure the line coming from the fuel filter goes to the fuel rail and the one coming off the fpr is not going to the filter.

Thanks for the help. I have the fuel lines hooked up as u described. What if I find a fuel pressure problem? Does this mean I need to replace the regulator or pump?

yes, but I am more suspicious of what you airflow meter is reading. Could be you have a split in your intake tube. Also while its idleing try to wiggle the harness thst comes away from the firwall near the back of the valve cover. Your looking for the engine to stumble. If it does you may have a wiring issue in that bundle of wires.

split in my intake tube? Which tube is that? The main air intake tube that runs to the air filter or the one that runs over to the top of the valve cover?

Thanks

The tube between your airflow meter and the throttle body, as well as any hose in that stretch attached to it.

Crap, I assume the air flow meter is the pipe attached to the MAF sensor over by the air filter box? I don't think I re-attached any tubes from there to the throttle body. Anyone have a pic of where it hooks up on the throttle body?
