Can anyone help that has experience making this upgrade? I would like to retain my 07 Bose factory head unit and upgrade speakers and amp (if necessary) to achieve better overall sound. It would be preferred if the upgrade was easily reversible down the road for resale. I have an 07 Touring Roadster. I'm new to Z ownership and the Forum. Thank you for experienced advice.

Look for a pac aoem-nis2. This will allow you to keep the factory radio and will give you 2 pairs of RCA outputs. Make sure you validate it works with a Z first

Why upgrade. The factory speakers sound good to me. I enjoy more of listening to the car than the radio/music.

The 'music' of the Z machinery itself is extraordinary! So also are the renderings of Andrea Bocelli, KD Lang & IZ. On any given day, I prefer to have the music that suits my mood, and great equipment to enjoy the same.

go to crutchfield.com, type in your car and they will list what fits the car exactly. as far stock stereo...jl audio makes a item called Clean Sweep sound processor...... "You can keep the look and functionality of your factory stereo, and still get outstanding audiophile sound with JL Audio's CleanSweep sound processor. It connects to your factory stereo's speaker lines and cleans up the stereo's output by sweeping away any processing from the stereo that could diminish the sound quality.

Many factory stereos use built-in equalization designed to make cheap factory speakers sound better, but this dressed-up signal can prevent aftermarket speakers from living up to their potential. The CleanSweep uses a 32-bit digital signal processor to remove the factory adjustments, then sends your external amplifiers a perfectly clean signal."....hope this helps....

Cleansweep is the "best out there" for sure. Of course, it costs a good bit of chump-change. It does allow you to steer clear of the internal bass-defeating equalization built into the Bose headunit tho.....
