If I was at work I could give you an exploded diagram of the KA head. :(

10mm bolt located at the front of the head bolting it to the front cover may also have one at the rear. the bolts are outside the valve area and are only about an inch in length. near the base of the head toward the intake side of the head. like the 2 in the front.

its ok, i managed to squeek the old head gasket out and put a new one in... but in my chiltons manual it has steps (a, b, c, d, e) for tightening the head bolts... but all i have is:"a. Torque all bolts to 22ft. lbs. b. Torque all bolts to 58 ft. lbs." then its the bottome of the page (pg 3-46) then on the next page (pg3-47) it starts out saying "gaskets. Refer to the Exhaust Manifold Removal and Installation procedures." so steps c-e are missing, does anybody know the ft. lbs. the head bolts should be tightened to?

I can't answer the torque question, except to say that usually you torque them up, then back down, and back up again in some weird sequence designed to minimize residual stresses in the head. I'm quite concerned about sliding the head gasket in there without a good inspection/cleaning. Anyone else care to comment? The surfaces should be FLAT and CLEAN. Without this step, I believe you'll be at risk of a premature failure.
