I was autocrossing the other day and i came around the last turn towards the finish, i got on the gas ans heard a small boom sound and no power was sent to the wheels, i took it out of gear and put it back into gear and it worked fine. On the way to my final run i realized that my speedo and odometer did not work so i followed my firend back home, on the way home the transmission twice while in gear stopped sending power, but once i took it out of gear and put it back in power was transferred again. The speedo would also occasionally work and go up to the speed i was going then go right back down to zero, anybody know what the problem might be? Also it is a maual transmission

I wanna say its your clutch but it couldnt be that if your Speedometer doesnt work sometimes, then like you said no power was going to the wheels, which could be the clutch but would explain the speedo prob. Im not sure how the 240s calculate speed, might be something in the driveshaft/train broke and made something loose and you only get it back on track is if you take it out of gears. I know im not much help, but thought I might give it a try.

there is a unit in the back of your transmission right next to the shifter hole that can be removed with a ratchet or mabey a wrench, i am rebuilding my transmission right now so i know where most of the stuff it located at but the speedo wont explain why your wheels keep loosing power.
