If the proper amount of transmission fluid is in the transmission, what could it be if i don't have the power until it hits 3,000RPM?

I know for a fact i don't have the power i used to. And you can actuallyfeel it when the full power kicks in at around 3,000RPM.

Does this symptom display all the time?

If you shut the car off and restart it and then drive it, does the transmission behave normally before it starts behaving this way again?

Does the car move at all until 3 K? , or is it sluggish acceleration until 3 K ??The knock sensor is ignored over 3 K if I recall.

And yes, the car moves. It drives and everything.I have the proper amount of fluid and everything. If i keep the gas pedal at the same spot, you can feel thepower pick up at 3,000 RPM.That's what i tried saying, it's hard to explain. But i don't have the power i used to in the lower of the gears.

I'm hoping the transmission just needs to be broken in from sitting arounddoing nothing for so long.

I think your transmission may be on its way out.

does the ATF have a burned smell? dark colour?

If the cluth plates are slippering, the ATF will smell and look bad (burnt smell and dark brown colour). Keep monitoring your trans.

It could be that the trans is fine but the engine itself has drivability issues (carbon + oxidized oil deposit).

It's not on it's way out.We just changed it because my last one went out.

And when the last one i had went out, it never showed anysymptoms of it about to go out. It just happened.

I repeat :O)

The knock sensor is ignored at 3k and up.

If its bad the timing is way retarded up to 3k.Pull the codes from the ECU and see what it says.

"How to" is a sticky on this forum.
