help! transmission not shifting

i washed the engine today. before washing it, everything was fine....then after washing....transmission is stuck at first gear and would not shift. any idea on what i need to check?

check transmission fluid level, if low add transmission oil.(if automatic, but it seems like an auto,lol)

sounds like you got the trans control wires wet. Let them dry out and see if it works. You might also check the trans plug that is on the driver's side wheel well as it is part of the system that controls line pressure.
