Im in the process of swaping out my ka for my 302 drag motor, and i've ran into a problem with the top.
- I've removed the ecu wiring harness and everything under the hood ecept for the brake lines, p/s, and battery/alt/strtr harness. The new motor will run with just the battery harness, but when i turn my key with a battery in the shell everything imagionable works in the car ecept for the top.- I know that there is suppose to be a safety switch on the shifter so that the top only works when the car is in park, or atleast that is what i've been told. But there must be something else because the top still won't work.- I haven't cut down the battery harness yet, it still has all the transmission wires on it, i assume that my problem might be with the transmission harness needing a sensor spliced togeather but i'm not shure.- If all else fails, i was wondering how hard it would be to manually wire the top to a toggle switch?
The new motor is ready to drop in and go, but i want to fix this issue first
props to anyone who can help!
