Ok I'm looking to build a DD that I could show if i want, so lowering the car is a MUST!! But my problem is my budget, coilovers seem to be the norm, but lower springs are cheaper.

What I've herd you can blow your struts on lower springs, you should buy new struts with lower springs,
But I've herd with Coils you have a rougher ride, but the major thing is the COST!

•Now with both-Witch one gives you more clearance for wider tires n such?
-What else should be bought with both?

I know it's been asked but I've been hearing mixed stuff from sites and local people. :wtf2:

Any help would be sweet!

Ideal low budget setup on a 240sx? A set of Tein S-Tech springs and some KYB or Tokico struts. Simple, effective, and reliable.

Thanks, yeah I've seen that done a lot, any idea how much of a drop you can achieve on the Teins?

I believe it's a 1.5 all the way around, maybe have to double check it though.

Yeah that seems about right, but Coils can get me close to a 2.5-3icnh drop?

Unless you're prepared to spend a lot on other suspension components, skip the coilovers til later.

With my previous car, I had coilover sleeves with lowering springs on stock struts with stock tophats. Barely daily driveable as it was so low, but it cost me next to nothing and lasted me for a pretty damn long time too before a strut blew. If you're gonna go the cheapo route looking for just a drop, I'd go this way.
The way I see it though, why spend money on lowering springs and new struts if you plan on buying coilovers later? Thats a gigantic waste of money. Just get the coilovers now, you wont regret it. Better clearance, lower drop, and better ride quality depending on which ones you buy.
