Knowing everything going in ain't gonna happen, mostly because noone knows everything. At 13 no one /really/ expects you to know what you're doing anyway, so just be an assistant and try to learn as you go (presuming your neighbor knows what he/she is doing). As stated, howstuffworks.com is an okay place to start, if a little annoying to navigate. Something like a "Cars for Dummies" would be alright, if it exists. If all else fails, take lots of pictures as you're disassembling things so you know where it all goes when you put it back together. And keep your parts organized and ideally labeled. Letter- or number-coding the ends of electrical and other connections is an excellent habit to have.

Also, try to ask specific questions. You're much more likely to get a useful answer that way.

Hey Scott!

I'm gonna have the mods move this one over to General CHat... I'd recommend just taking some time and reading as much as you can, you'll learn a ton!

Here's a good place to start, there's a lot of great articles here: http://www.240sxTech.com

Thanks for your help working on the cars - It was good meeting you and your folks.

First go to wal-mart and buy duct tape. Use it with super glue. Car will be perfect.......Ask some more specific questions and we'll help ya. Mainly cars isn't hard at all. Just bunch of parts that go together. Some thigns are hard but after doing it once it's cakewalk...

Oh we can tell you're new. "240 SX"?! And by the way it sounds you have no clue on where to start. Hahaha...you're not alone. Everybody has there own preferences. Do it your way, not my way, or his way, just YOUR way. The point is not making a mimic of the next guy that replies to this post. Unless that's what your doing....are you?

Start the build with:

1. Suspension(Bushings, suspension arms/rods, and coilovers/struts and coils)2. Brakes (If you do a five lug conversion....swap wheels at this point)3. Power/Transmission/Drivetrain5. Exterior

*Interior work can be done at any point
