Okay, my car was throwing code #34, which is the Knock Sensor. I took the knock sensor off the old '91 engine and put it on the '95 thats currently in my Coupe. The wiring harness was screwed up on the '95 knock sensor, so I figured that the '91 sensor would fix it. Now, to my understanding, you need to reset the ECU after it has thrown the code or it will stay in memory.

I tried to reset the ECU according to Zilvia'a FAQ, and now its throwing code #11: Camshaft Position Sensor, #21:Ignition signal in the primary circuit is not being entered to the ECU during cranking or turning, and the original code #34: Knock Sensor. I did it exactly like what Zilvia said to, and now more codes are on the ECU. And, after trying to reset the ECU, the check engine light came on after start up. It would take it roughly 3-5 secondes after the engine was running to turn on, then after about 10 seconds it would go off for about 3 seconds and come back on. It did this 3 times. It went away after the third time, so I took it for a 30min drive to see if it would come back on. I turned off the motor and re-started it to see if it would come back and it didn't. When I got home, I re-tested the ECU and the same three codes came up. Whats going on? Any help, PLEASE!!!

Yeah, there from the same year, both '91's. These codes didn't come up until I tried to reset the ECU. Did I do something worng? I let the car sit over night (a good 12+ hours) unhooked from the battery to see if that resets the ECU (heard that it does and doesn't, so I has willing to try it). I was driving a good 2-3 weeks before the I fixed the knock sensor, these codes didn't exsist before last night. Whats up?

reseting the ecm will not cause that.

It was fine before I tried resetting the computer. Why did they pop up all of a sudden, I was running the car for 2 weeks before, how come it happened after I put on the knock sensor. The distributor has clean terminals, the wiring is stock, not messed with at all. The CEL comes on on the first start up, but when shut down and restarted, it stays off. Whats up with that?

My Check engine Light is know on all the time. I still have the 3 codes as mentioned before. In the FSM, it said that if codes #11 and #21, check code #11 first since it can trigger code #21.

Heres some information that was in the sticky saying I should include:Its a 1991 240SX SE Coupe-'91 harness and ECU1995 KA Motor w/'91 intake manifold, Exhaust maniflod, and distributor. New O2 sensor

Runs fine, could be ran all day, but it consumes gas like a mother... I have noticed that the 4th wire (the one that is on top) that is on the connector of the distributor is exposed and has a few copper strands holding it together. I need to know how to get the connector apart to fix the wire. Please help, I can't find it in the FSM! Thanks.

taking the connector apart is difficult. you have to remove the terminals via depressing the little pins inside of them and pulling.
