The factory Bose unit in my '93 Infiniti J30 is giving me fits. I know there are several common problems with them but I can't find any info on how to fix it.

The unit has gone dead. I pulled it out, disconnected and reconnected the power and it came back to life - but only until I turned the car off again. Then it would accept and reject CDs, but not play them - and no radio. So I pulled it out again, this time leaving it out for an hour or so to make sure all power had drained. Then I re-installed it and NOTHING - no power - nothing. Is there an anti-theft code I need to put now?

Can anybody out there help a guy out?

MODS - merge as you see fit.

Join the club! I don't think there's a code you need, just a repair or a replacement. Check out my thread from a couple of weeks ago - there are several good links within it:

(I think there's a better way to post a link, but I don't know how.)

I went ahead and shipped it off yesterday to the carstereohelp.com guys. I guess I'll have to stare at this ugly gaping hole for a center console for 2-3 weeks - with no tunes. :crybaby

But, on the flip-side, when I get it back, it'll be better than new! :ylsuper
