so last night I hit the curb with the bottom of my back bumper. It just hit the bottom of the little end cap thing. just a few light scratches. So today I go to my car and I see my back bumper is sticking out. Turns out the little tab that the screw goes into to hold the bumper on broke.

would it be ok to use a washer and JB-weld it to the half broken tab? It would make a new hole for the screw to go through and hold the bumper in place.... but would it last? would the rest of the tab break off?

I wouldn't mind trying super glue honestly. It'll bond metal to most plastics. Some five minute epoxy might do the trick as well.

This happened to me a few months ago. What i did was i drilled a small hole close to where the tab was and then zip tied it to the car. You couldn't tell my bumper had been snapped off and it sat perfectly.
you have to remove the screw from the car though and insert the zip tie from the new hole made on the bumper to where the screw went into the body.

Oh yeah I would go to the zip ties for that one! They'll be sturdy

What I would do is get those little plastic thing that slides over the cap and then screw it back, you know what I'm talking about? Or zip tie it, but wouldn't you rather do it in a legit way? Either way, whatever works :)

Owwww! Damn you hit that hard! I can buff out those scratches (gotta see how it looks first...) :D but the ziptie idea isn't bad. A meet is due...

YEP exactly like mine!
Drill a little hole and zip tie them together and BAM!
Good as new.
My front bumper is actually held with a zip tie atm :chuckle:

I ended up just doing my original idea of JB-weld and a washer. It worked perfect. I put the screw back in and it looks like nothing ever happen

Thanks for updating. I ended up taking mine to the body shop and they fixed it for me for $25
