People pull them off and have them either painted or powdercoated.I was planning on pulling mine and getting them powdercated the same time I had my wheels done so they were the same colour.

If you can't (or don't) find one easily in the phone book I'd suggest talking to your local mechanic (if you have one...that you trust) - they've usually got all sorts of contacts and resources. After that I'd talk to to reputable body shop and if they don't do it I'm sure they can point you to someone that can.

Do some research and get pricing from different vendors if you can - if you can see some samples that would be even better! Do some checking on the web to see if there are any recommendations locally of one powdercoater over another - or even one everyone tells you to stay away from. The evaluation(s) you do on the front end can save a lot of hassles and disappointments in the long run.

What else are you considering getting done for him for Christmas?

I thought the handles weren't metal, therefore they couldn't be powder coated. The best bet is to have them painted. Any body shop or automotive paint place could do it....I personally have been thinking about this. My car is carbon silver and I was going to have them painted body color

Good catch, they are. I kind of spaced out on that. Someone on here actually broke one of their door handles and had to replace it, I think it might have been Soup. Guess I'll be doing paint. :)

But, plastic can be powder coated under certain circumstances. Here's a quick Q&A about it.

People have been painting their door handles forever, it looks absolutely horrible on the black Z's though..from what i think.

What color is his car? Few members from my local Z club had them painted but were quick to have it back to silver after a month or so.

I'll try and help pull up a picture for you then you can maybe show your husband nonchalantly on what he thinks about painted handles before you pull the trigger on the idea.

guess I learned something new....

blue I swear turns out best when you do anything body color paint related....it's weird how it works out but daytona blue on headlights, handles, interior always turns awesome (in my opinion)....

I have a carbon silver, I'm doing my entire interior flat black and my exterior where I can in body color with maybe black pearl emblems...

Where's da pics? :)

Or am I being an old man again and forgot that you already posted them! :squint:

I was going to pick up the black pearl pieces you're talking about, but I might just pick up some silver ones and have them painted when ever I get around to having my handles done so that they all match. For what it's worth I think that the painted emblems would normally look good on any contrasting colour, except white. I think that blue, orange and yellow will be the best paints to go dark on though.

I think if you have a black car like I do, gunmetal or black chrome would look best IMHO..
Black on black same color would just wash out the lines of the car but the different shade or
sheen of black would look classy. :yesnod
